Podgorica, Montenegro (8 January 2013) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with famous French actor Gérard Depardieu, who is paying a visit to Montenegro, in Podgorica late afternoon.

PM Đukanović said that Mr Depardieu’s willingness to be ambassador of the Montenegrin culture corresponds with Montenegro’s interests and can contribute to further promotion of the country on the international scene.

“We are pleased that our culture heritage and creativity deserve attention of famous people such as Mr Depardieu. It is a chance for some of our cultural potentials in the broadest sense to be presented to the international public, thus putting, in the era of globalisation, Montenegro’s specific values in a better position during the integration process, “ PM Đukanović told the press.

Montenegro is a country of enormous potentials and has every right to be a part of Europe, Gérard Depardie told the press in Podgorica. He empahasised that he is captivated by the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and rich history, and that he is ready to promote Montenegro's potentials throughout the world, make films and bring reputable filmmakers to Montenegro.
