PR ServicePljevlja, Montenegro (23 September 2017) -- "The Coal Mine is a company that operates successfully, performs all obligations towards the state and employees, and not only that, it has a serious development plans, and I believe that in the coming months we will provide serious funds for new investments and new production," Prime Minister Duško Marković said today after visiting the surface mine Potrlica of the Coal Mine in Pljevlja.

Summing up the impressions on the working visit to Pljevlja and the meeting with the municipal leadership, the Prime Minister stated:

"We agreed to find answers to some serious fiscal challenges in the shortest time without jeopardising the development concepts of the Municipality and when it comes to Pljevlja. So, Pljevlja is very important for the Government, a strategic place, a place with serious resources and we will do everything to serve the purpose of increasing the quality of life of citizens in Pljevlja, but also the purpose of development of Montenegro and its economy."

Commenting on the issue of environmental benefits, the Prime Minister said:

"In order to establish any type of remuneration that should be taken from an enterprise or business community, you must, as a state, do everything to make it sustainable, functional, and profit-making. In the business environment for which the state is responsible, you can not create intentions and burdens and crush any chance of development... We want to establish a functional energy system in Pljevlja and Montenegro – that is, Elektroprivreda, Coal Mine, Thermoelectric Power Plant."

On this occasion, Prime Minister Marković said that, after solving the relationship between A2A and Elektroprivreda, the process of unification of Elektroprivreda, Coal Mine, and Thermoelectric Power Plant will begin, as well as building new energy capacities. He expressed the expectation that "by the end of 2018 we will have a clear picture of it, and 2019 may be a year in which we will harvest the fruits."
