PM Marković hosts representatives of Besix Group

Podgorica, Montenegro (23 January 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted representatives of the Besix Group, headed by Managing Director Rik Vandenberghe. 

Besix Group is the largest Belgian group, operating in the construction of buildings, infrastructure, environmental projects and roads. Besix is also active in the production of raw materials, facility management, real estate development and concessions. Since 2009, the Besix Group has been present in Montenegro, and is also a co-investor in one of the major investment projects in Montenegro - the Luštica Bay, and helds 50% ownership of the future hotel "Chedy" at the same location. Representatives of the company expressed interest in continuing their operations in Montenegro.

Prime Minister Marković presented a number of facts regarding the competitiveness of Montenegro in terms of investment, and especially pointed out the fact that the country's NATO membership and the leading position in the process of European integration positioned it as the most prestigious investment destination in the region.

Besix Group expressed particular interest in taking part in projects related to the making the best use of Tivat and Podgorica airports, the Verige bridge and other road infrastructure projects, construction of new tourist facilities, as well as the projects in the energy sector, with an emphasis on renewable energy sources. 

The meeting concluded that the representatives of the Government of Montenegro and Besix Group will review the concrete possibilities for strategic cooperation.
