The Prime Ministers of Montenegro and the People's Republic of China, Duško Marković and Li Keqiang, noted today at a meeting in Sofia that the two countries cherish high-quality relations and that they are constantly progressing and that both countries see room for further progress of cooperation in the areas of transport infrastructure, energy and agriculture.

Montenegro and China have the best relations ever, which is particularly contributed by cooperation within the 16 + 1 mechanism, as well as the construction of our first motorway - the project of the century in Montenegro. We are particularly pleased with the possibility of connecting the port of Bar to the project of reconstruction of the Belgrade - Budapest railway, thus creating conditions for the valorisation of this important resource, Prime Minister Marković said at the meeting following the CEEC-China 16+1 Summit.

Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the works on the priority section of the Bar-Boljare motorway were in full swing. Speaking about the continuation of the construction of the motorway, Li said that he was confident that the Chinese companies will be sufficiently competitive and make good offers.

China's cooperation with Montenegro in the field of infrastructure can be developed in other sectors, Prime Minister Li said, adding that China wants to import more agricultural products from Montenegro and to work to increase the number of Chinese tourists in our country.

Prime Minister Duško Marković invited Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang to visit Montenegro.
