MONTENEGRO'S NEW GOVERNMENT APPROVED

Montenegro's parliament has approved a new government that is led by longtime Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic.

In a vote late Wednesday, 48 of 81 lawmakers in parliament approved the 21-member Cabinet that includes ministers from four pro-Western parties.

Djukanovic says his new government's goal will be to steer the tiny Balkan nation toward the European Union and NATO. He begins his sixth term as Montenegro's premier.

Djukanovic's European Montenegro coalition won a landslide victory in parliamentary elections in March.

Djukanovic has been a political leader in the country of more than 600,000 people for nearly 20 years, leading it to independence from much larger Serbia in 2006.
