Minister Nuhodžić visited the National Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking and the Women's Safe House

Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić visited today the National Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking and the Women's Safe House in Podgorica. Today's visit is organized within the framework of a tour of NGOs that provide accommodation and protection to victims of violence.

According to the Minister, these activities aim to improve cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and organizations working on the problem of violence, primarily domestic violence and violence against women. Minister Nuhodžić expressed the belief that through the work of the Operational Team has already begun working, full contribution will be given to the quality coordination of relevant institutions with the civil sector in the fight against violence, and above all, violence against children and women.

Minister Nuhodžić put out the invitation and encouraged all women and male citizens to report violence without any fear in order to effectively fight violence.
Director of the Montenegrin Women's House and coordinator of the National Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking, Aida Petrovic, said that today's visit of the minister is a positive signal from the state that already good cooperation will be further improved and that only mutual and joint work can give added value in resolving victims' problems.


Director of the Women's Safe House, Ljiljana Raičević, expressed her satisfaction with the visit, and reminded that this was also the first organized visit from the level of the Minister. She added that she believes that the cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and the Women's Safe House will continue to develop in a positive direction, and interpreted the Minister's visit as a contribution to the view that violence will not be tolerated and that the Ministry of the Interior, within its competencies, will seek to promote zero tolerance to this negative social phenomenon.

Today's visit to the National Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking and Women's Safe House is the first in a series of planned visits, where Minister Nuhodžić will visit all organizations in Montenegro in the coming period that are working on family violence.
