Radulović and Palmer: Unquestionable US support for the integration processes of the countries in the region

"Montenegro is committed to a partnership with the United States, that is further strengthened by the joint action in NATO, which was confirmed through our country's actions at the Summit," said Foreign Minister Djordje Radulovic during a meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer.

The head of Montenegrin diplomacy welcomed the activities of the new American administration in the Western Balkans, as well as the unquestionable support of the United States for the integration efforts of the countries in the region. The Minister particularly emphasized the importance of starting negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania as soon as possible, bearing in mind that removing the stalemate in these processes will bring multiple benefits to the region as a whole. In that context, he expressed the expectation that strong support for Montenegro will be continued in the reform processes in order to become the next EU member.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Palmer reiterated that the United States is a friend and reliable partner of Montenegro in achieving the goals of its European agenda. He stressed the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, as one of the key elements of stability and prosperity in the region, and pointed out the role that Montenegro has in strengthening these ties, as well as in supporting other countries in the region on their path to EU accession.
