The Embassy of Montenegro to Russia awarded books to the Library of Foreign Literature

The Embassy of Montenegro in the Russian Federation awarded books, written by modern Montenegrin authors, to the Library of Foreign Literature in Moscow, as a donation of Montenegrin institutions for the occasion of celebrating 100th anniversary of this library.

During 2021, the Embassy conducted a range of activities, in the context of celebrating dates that are important for Russo-Montenegrin relations – 310th anniversary since the establishment of first political contacts and 15th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, after renovation of Montenegrin independence.

On that occasion, Ambassador Milorad Šćepanović pointed out that marking these important jubilees in the relations between Montenegro and the Russian Federation creates an additional obligation to improve cooperation in all fields that bring the citizens of the two countries closer. Library’s General Director Pavel Kuzmin thanked Montenegrin institutions for the donation, adding that he is pleased with the fact that a mutual interest for developing cooperation in areas of culture and education, through realization of common projects, exists.

National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”, Matica Crnogorska, The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts and the State Archive gave a contribution to collecting these editions which enriched the fund of Library’s Center for Slavic Literature.
