The Government has set up the National Commission for the implementation of the Strategy against Corruption and Organised Crime as the principal body for directing and coordinating the fight against corruption and organised crime, with a view to meeting the recommendations laid down in the European Commission’s positive Opinion on Montenegro’s EU membership application.
The National Commission comprises 13 members from various sectors: ministers and other government officials in charge of integration, internal affairs, economy, justice, political system, police, anti-corruption, as well as members of the judiciary, public prosecutors and the NGO sector.
The National Commission is established for directing, organising and coordinating the efforts of public authorities and other relevant institutions aimed at implementing the Strategy against Corruption and Organised Crime. The commission will report to the Government at least twice a year.
