The United Kingdom will soon offer expert and financial support to Montenegro through a concrete project aimed at improving the legal framework for the fight against corruption in the public sector, Deputy Prime Minister Dusko Markovic and Catherine Knight-Sands, the UK Ambassador to Montenegro announced at a meeting on Monday, March 7.
DPM Markovic welcomed this initiative and acquainted Ambassador Knight-Sands with Montenegro’s anti-corruption efforts, with an emphasis on the institutional framework reform, which is pursued by the Government in cooperation with the European Commission (EC).
The DPM and the UK Ambassador agreed that, in addition to good laws and strong political will, Montenegro also needs strong institutions capable of enforcing the law successfully, which calls for continued trainings in all public administration bodies.
