Minister of Defence Boro Vucinic received Ambassador of the Russian Federation Andrei Nesterenko

Minister of Defence Boro Vucinic received today Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Montenegro Andrei Nesterenko.

Minister Vucinic said that this meeting continues traditionally good overall relations between Montenegro and Russia. Since Montenegro aspires to NATO membership, and the cooperation of Russia with NATO is successfully achieved through the NATO-Russia Council (NRC), new possibilities for cooperation in the area of defence and security can emerge.

Ambassador Nesterenko said that there is room for intensification of the cooperation, which will be greatly contributed by the appointment of a Russian military attaché in Montenegro.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation has announced that in celebration of 300 years of the establishment of political relations between Montenegro and the Russian Federation, a Russian warship will visit Montenegro.
