USA voices support to Montenegro integration efforts, says Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Washington, USA (12 October 2011) – Montenegro has achieved progress in a variety of fields and the US government will strongly support its further endeavours towards “being a partner in the Euro-Atlantic community,” the US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton told the press following a meeting with Prime Minister Igor Lukšić on 11 October.

PM Lukšić voiced satisfaction for visiting the United States, underlining that it comes at the time when Montenegro is expecting good news from Brussels regarding the opening of EU accession talks.

“Montenegro is a country that should share Western values,” Prime Minister Lukšić said adding that Montenegro is looking forward to meeting the challenges ahead towards reaching its “ultimate priority” of EU and NATO membership.
