DPM Husović: Montenegro and Turkey to boost economic cooperation

Istanbul, Turkey (30 May 2013) – During his official visit to Turkey, Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović met with Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz.
Minister Yilmaz reiterated Turkey's commitment to preserving and boosting ties between the two states, adding that good overall relations will result in advanced economic cooperation, which should take cental stage in future collaboration.
DPM Husović emphasised that Montenegro is a regional leader in terms of tax reliefs and incentives for investors. The meeting also discussed the interest Turkish companies showed in the construction of the Bar-Boljare high way.
“We expect the continuation of good economic cooperation, which would be further enhanced and supported by the presence of the Zirat Bank in Montenegro,” DPM Husović pointed out.
He invited Minister Yilmaz to visit Montenegro, where a business forum, presenting Montenegro’s economic potentials and benefits the country offers to foreign investors, would be organised.
During the visit to the OSTIM Organised Industrial Region, President of the Board of Directors Orhan Aydin informed DPM Husović about the OSTIM’s capacities which covers 5 000 small and medium-sized enterprises from various areas of economy and voiced willingness for the opening of the company’s office in Balkans with headquarters in Montenegro.
Deputy Prime Minister Husović also visited the Ankara Development Agency, where he met with Secretary- General of the agency Asim Balci.
