The Institute for Economics and Peace has issued the seventh edition of the Global Research Index (GPI), which ranks nations according to their level of peace. According to data, Montenegro has become more peaceful in comparison to the 2012 Annual report. Montenegro is ranked 73rd out of the total 162 countries, which represents a visible improvement because last year it was 81st on the list.
The 2013 GPI has ranked 162 independent countries by measuring security in society, the extent of conflict and the degree of militarisation. Although Europe remains the world’s most peaceful region, in comparison to the 2012 it has experienced a modest deterioration caused by difficult economic times.
