Municipalities play important role in EU accession process

Podgorica, Montenegro ( 8 July) -- Municipalities play an important role in adoption and implementation of the European standards and values. That is way they should continue with the implementation of projects that bring benefits to the local communities and their citizens. it was noted at today's round table “Local governments in the process of negotiations – successes and challenges on the path to the EU".

Secretariat - General to the Government and the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro organised the round table, bearing in mind the role of the local governments in the Montenegro’s EU accession process, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation among state and local authorities, especially in the harmonisation and implementation of the European regulations and standards.
