Podgorica, Montenegro (13 March 2020) -- Minister of Sports and Youth Nikola Janović cancelled sports fairs in six Montenegrin cities and urged youth, athletes and all citizens to avoid gatherings.
"In a situation where Montenegro is surrounded by those countries affected with the coronavirus, and while our health authorities responsibly deliver protective measures against the pandemic, I have decided to cancel sports fairs in six Montenegrin cities. Responsibility for the health of citizens does not end at the individual level, but on the contrary - special responsibility rests upon the organisers of large public gatherings. Therefore, I urged young people, athletes and all citizens to recognise the moment themselves, when the moment is not already understood and recognised by those who gather them, and not to be part of the risk that will endanger them, their families and the whole society, even if they were processions," Minister of Sports and Youth Nikola Janović noted.
