Montenegro and Slovenia affirm friendly relations during Prime Minister Djukanovic’s official visit to Ljubljana

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic visited the Republic of Slovenia on Friday for talks on bilateral relations, EU membership, investment opportunities, and parliamentary cooperation. During the visit, Montenegro and Slovenia signed the Agreement on Social Cooperation.
Prime Ministers Djukanovic and Pahor agreed that the relations between Montenegro and Slovenia are excellent and pledged to continue to maintain them in the future. They also said that friendly relations are enhanced by the signing of the Agreement on Social Cooperation and they discussed further investment cooperation between the two countries, recalling that it was Slovenian investors that promoted Montenegro as an investment destination.
Slovenia supports European integration of Montenegro, and expects even more dynamic efforts of Montenegro towards this goal, said Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor. Prime Minister Djukanovic thanked Slovenia for its support and reiterated the importance of the commitment of Slovenia to the promotion of European perspective for the Western Balkans countries.
President Turk agreed that Montenegro has a certain European future, owing to its results and policies. He and Prime Minister Djukanovic underlined that the integration of the Western Balkan states into the EU is an answer to contemporary challenges.
At a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament Gantar Prime Minister Djukanovic discussed the parliamentary cooperation and the importance of the Parliament in the process of harmonization with acquis communautaire.
Prime Minister Djukanovic also met with leading Slovenian entrepreneurs and both sides confirmed that the existing successful cooperation can be continued in the future.
Minister of Welfare and Social Labor Numanovic accompanied Prime Ministe Djukanovic on his visit to Slovenia and signed the aforementioned agreement on behalf of Montenegro.
