DPM Bečić attends APF's Parliamentary Affairs Committee meeting

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić participated in the meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, which was held for the first time in the Parliament of Montenegro.

During the session, Bečić expressed his satisfaction at seeing the Parliament hosting representatives from across the globe, portraying Montenegro as a welcoming host and projecting an image of a modern and European country engaged with the world.  

Bečić expressed his extreme pleasure at the opportunity for parliamentarians from the farthest corners of the world to visit Montenegro for the first time. He expressed hope that they would carry back positive experiences to their countries. He emphasised the need for Montenegro, as a tourist destination, to expand its market, inviting travelers from all over the world to visit the country, enjoy its beauty, and get acquainted with its proud and hospitable people. He underscored the importance of showcasing Montenegro's diversity as a beautiful message of unity, love, and freedom that Europe can convey to the world.

Bečić emphasised that the values of peace, prosperity, dialogue, international cooperation, and cultural appreciation are the foundation of modern Montenegro. He particularly highlighted the significance of conveying these messages from a country that is the frontrunner in the EU accession process.

Reflecting on Montenegro's recent milestone as the 91st member of this organisation, the Deputy Prime Minister fondly recalled his first meeting with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie three years ago, during which he served as the President of the Parliament and head of the Francophonie delegation. As the former President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the driving force behind its membership in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, he expressed immeasurable pride in sharing this historic moment, emphasising their collective journey, the establishment of strong bonds, and the promotion of healthy values amidst challenging global times.

He also expressed satisfaction with the Parliament of Montenegro's organisation of high-level gatherings, which bring together representatives from around the world. He emphasised that through these events, they further promote and affirm the spirit, tradition, and values of Montenegro. Bečić concluded by expressing his hope for everlasting friendship and partnership, wishing everyone a happy and promising beginning.
