Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović is participating in the NATO Summit, which is taking place on 24 - 25 June in The Hague, as part of a delegation led by President Jakov Milatović.

During the first day of the Summit, a meeting was held in the NATO-Ukraine Council format for the foreign ministers of member states, attended by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

Allies expressed strong commitment to continuing support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and emphasised that investment in the defence of Ukraine is a pledge for the defence of all of Europe.

The importance of the synergistic action of NATO and the European Union has been particularly emphasised, through various mechanisms of assistance and support to Ukraine, including the defence industry.

Allies have also expressed strong support for the diplomatic efforts of the United States in order to secure a ceasefire that will lead to a lasting and fair peace in Ukraine. The head of Montenegrin diplomacy stressed that Montenegro, as a dedicated NATO member, will continue to support Ukraine both on a bilateral level and through NATO cooperation and assistance mechanisms, and that support for Ukraine's defence and the defence of its territorial integrity and sovereignty remains one of the Alliance's key priorities.

During his stay in The Hague, FM Ibrahimović discussed with his counterparts, the significance of strengthening stability and security in the Western Balkans and the joint efforts to ensure collective safety and security.

The meeting of the heads of state/government of NATO in The Hague is the first one chaired by Secretary General Mark Rutte. The key topics on the agenda of the two-day discussions include strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities, increasing defence spending and the development of the defence industry, as well as continuing support for Ukraine.
