Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović participated in the 11th edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) in Naples, Italy.

Ibrahimović took part in the panel titled “Empowering International Diplomacy: The Role of the Balkans.” Other speakers included Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as the foreign ministers of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Kosovo, alongside representatives of the foreign ministries of Slovenia and North Macedonia.

In his remarks, Ibrahimović reaffirmed Montenegro’s strong commitment to the European path and the shared values it upholds with its allies and partners.

As the country making the greatest progress in the EU accession process and as a NATO member, Montenegro contributes to regional and global security, said Ibrahimović.

He emphasised the importance of Italy’s role and that of Minister Tajani, noting that “Italy’s commitment to dialogue and to the European perspective of the Western Balkans is of great importance. Our partnership, based on trust and shared values, confirms that the bridges between nations are always stronger than divisions.”

Ibrahimović concluded that Montenegro’s participation in the event reflects its conviction that only through cooperation and sincere dialogue can we build a more stable, secure, and prosperous Mediterranean – a space that connects continents, cultures, and futures.

The Mediterranean Dialogues are the leading global conference dedicated to diplomacy, security, economy, and cooperation among Mediterranean countries, organised by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as one of its key public diplomacy initiatives.

This year’s edition brought together numerous representatives of governments, international organisations, academia, business, civil society, and the media, with the goal of building a positive agenda for the Mediterranean region and strengthening inter-state cooperation.

Ibrahimović’s participation once again confirmed Montenegro’s active role in regional and international processes and its commitment to promoting stability, dialogue, and European values.
