MFA announcement

Published on: Feb 28, 2022 3:15 PM

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs the public that there are currently seven Montenegrin citizens in Ukraine who intend to leave the country.

Four of our citizens are on their way to the border crossings between Ukraine and Hungary, while one is on the way to the Romanian border. Due to the huge line on the Ukrainian side, it is not certain when they will move to the territories of these countries. All of them are in intensive communication with our diplomatic representatives, who monitor their movements and provide the necessary logistical support in order to be safe as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has engaged all available capacities and coordinates and communicates with the institutions of transit countries on a daily basis, in order to provide conditions for the smooth passage of our citizens, despite conflicts, curfew and unpredictable security situation.

At the same time, apart from Montenegrin citizens moving towards the Ukrainian border crossings, the Operational Team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the staff of the Embassy in Kiev are in constant contact with our citizens who remained in Ukraine.
