Montenegro receives strong support from MEPs for EU membership

The adoption of the Declaration of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee in the Montenegrin Parliament has confirmed Montenegro’s significant progress in the process of European integration.
Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović emphasized that the content and tone of the Declaration carry a strong message of encouragement and a clear confirmation of Montenegro’s commitment to conclude negotiations with the European Union by 2026. He underlined that the document, in addition to recognizing the efforts made so far, sends a powerful signal of support from MEPs.
Commendations for the pace of the accession process, the dedication of the Government and the Parliament, progress in the area of the rule of law, and economic stability represent recognition of the work of our institutions to date, but also serve as an incentive to continue with reforms, whose ultimate goal is Montenegro’s membership in the European Union in 2028, stated Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović.
