PM Spajić to pay a working visit to Japan, meeting with PM Ishiba scheduled for 28 May
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić will lead the Montenegrin delegation during a working visit to Japan from 25 May to 1 June 2025. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Spajić will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo on 28 May and take part in the celebration of Montenegro’s National Day at EXPO 2025 in Osaka.
On 27 May, the Prime Minister will open the Montenegro–Japan Business Forum, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro.
The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Spajić includes Minister of Finance Novica Vuković and Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović. During their stay, the delegation will hold meetings with representatives of leading Japanese companies across key sectors, including energy (JERA), information and communication technology (NTT Communications), tourism (Hoshino Resorts), construction, infrastructure, seismic technology, and rail transport (Itochu, Masatomi, and Hitachi), among others.
A meeting is also scheduled at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan’s primary agency for implementing development cooperation projects in Montenegro.
The visit represents an important opportunity to enhance comprehensive bilateral relations across various sectors, with a focus on further strengthening economic cooperation, promoting Montenegro’s tourism and investment potential, and advancing collaboration in education and other areas of mutual interest.
