Visa regime

Citizens of Montenegro do not need a visa to stay on the territory of Belarus for up to 30 days.


Montenegrin-Belarusian relations are traditionally friendly, with significant potential for stronger economic cooperation, primarily in domain of tourism.

DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

The Republic of Belarus recognized Montenegro’s independence on 21 June 2006.  Diplomatic relations were established on 8 August 2006 by exchange of diplomatic notes.

On 1 October 2020, Ambassador M. Šćepanović was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Republic of Belarus on a non-resident basis, with the seat  in Moscow.

On 8 December 2017,  Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Montenegro, on a non-resident basis, with the seat in Belgrade, Valerij Briljov, presented credentials to the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović.

OFFICIAL VISITS

5-6 July 2017 - the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajović, during the Annual Session of the OSCE PA in Minsk, met with the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei.

ECONOMIC COOPERATION

The total inflow of FDI from the Republic of Belarus in 2019 amounted to 5.86 million EUR. During 2019, 20,557 Belarus tourists visited Montenegro (162,228 overnight stays).
