Visa regime

Nationals of Montenegro may enter, pass through and stay in Czech Republic for up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

Diplomatic relations

The Czech Republic officially recognized Montenegro's independence on June 12, 2006. Diplomatic relations were established on June 15, 2006.

The political relations between Montenegro and the Czech Republic are friendly and are based on the principles of openness, cooperation in many areas and mutual support at the regional and international level. The two countries are successfully cooperating within NATO structures, and the Czech Republic has provided continuous support to our country since the restoration of independence in the context of European integration, both at the political and expert level.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Czech Republic, based in Vienna, is Željko Perović (took office on January 23, 2019).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Montenegro is Karel Urban (he took office on October 20, 2017).

Bilateral meetings

April 5 - 8, 2016: President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović paid an official visit to the Czech Republic.

July 1-2, 2015: Prime Minister Milo Đukanović paid an official visit to the Czech Republic.

21-24. February 2020: Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for the Western Balkans Janina Hrebičkova paid a visit to Montenegro.

June 10, 2019: Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek paid an official visit to Montenegro.
