Announcement: Participation of the Delegation of Montenegro on the 9.th Session of the Committee on Enforced Disappearances of the United Nations

Delegation of Montenegro, led by the Minister of Justice Mr. Zoran Pažin, will present the Initial report on the implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance before the Committee on Enforced Disappearances in Geneva, on September 8-9th, 2015. Initial report on the implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance was prepared in 2013., in accordance with art. 29 of the Convention that prescribes the obligation of each State party to submit to the Committee a report on the measures taken to give effect to its obligations under this Convention, within two years after the entry into force of this Convention for the State Party concerned.

Beside representatives of the Ministry of Justice, delegation is composed of the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Supreme Court of Montenegro and Special State Prosecution Office.

In accordance with the procedure of the Committee, Report is being elaborated in the form of public dialogue between the delegation of the State submitting the Report and the members of the Committee. Goal of the dialogue is understanding the situation in Montenegro by the members of the Committee and giving recommendations for improvement of implementation of the Convention.
