Zenka-Raičević: Highly praised contribution of the Jewish Community to Inter-Religious Synergy in Montenegro

The Jewish Community of Montenegro gives a great contribution to the overall inter-religious synergy in Montenegro and its importance in society is noted and highly appreciated stated Minister for Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka at the meeting with the newly-appointed President of the Jewish Community Mr. Djordje Raičević.
Zenka pointed to the importance of further affirmation and strengthening of cooperation with the Jewish community, highlighting very good relations which are an additional source of cooperation in a number of areas, culture in particular.

The Ministry for Human and Minority Rights constantly organizes conferences with the aim of promoting universal values based on interfaith and inter-religious harmony as well as solidarity and responsibility, equality of all religions and believes.
Minister Zenka expects good cooperation to continue in the future as well as strengthening communication through direct access and dialogue as the most appropriate and successful means of communication to which the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights is highly committed.

Djordje Raičević, President of the Jewish Community, was most thankful to Minister Zenka for the reception and stressed once again the successful cooperation with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights.
Raičević pointed out the importance of Jewish holidays which are all historically connected except "Yom Kipur". He suggested the idea of creating a cultural and educational center in Podgorica. According to him, this initiative would strengthen the links with the local population and contribute to improving knowledge of the Montenegrin society regarding the history and customs of the Jewish people, which, as he said, still does not know enough.

Minister Zenka once again congratulated Mr. Raičević on his position of the President of the Jewish Community and wished him a success in the further work as well as a good continuation of mutual cooperation.
