Abazović extends congratulations on Independence Day: Long live Montenegro

Published on: May 21, 2021 6:45 AM Author: Office of the Deputy Prime Minister

The fifteenth anniversary of one of the brightest dates in recent Montenegrin history must serve as a signpost and a warning that love and patriotism towards our Montenegro must be built in a different way - with strong institutions, an economically stable state and the rule of law. Montenegro must open its door to all those to whom that door has been closed for 30 years, no matter how they declare themselves. Love to Montenegro is shown with the honest approach, by building institutions, preserving its potentials and beauties and proper economic development, by building the rule of law and equal distribution of justice to all. No political party should ruin the reputation of the state anymore and be the cause or excuse of contempt for our only home. The days of identifying party and state are gone. The days of spite are gone. Let's turn to each other and to civil Montenegro.

If we want Montenegro to be eternal, then we must all work together to make it truly the home of all its citizens, where everyone will find a reason to love, respect and protect it, and in which everyone will have space for a dignified life, regardless of identity differences.

Montenegro is our house, which was left on a fragile foundation by irresponsible three-decade-old politics, so it is the obligation of all of us to further strengthen that house, with the pillars of strong and independent institutions, so that its stability would never depend on any government or political group. All authorities are transitory, and Montenegro must be and remain eternal!

Long live Montenegro!
