Abazović meets with Kazakh Defence Minister Yermekbayev

During his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović had a bilateral meeting Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev.

DPM Abazović informed Minister Yermekbayev about Montenegro's membership in NATO and the security situation in Montenegro, in the context of global challenges posed by terrorism and extremism, as well as the participation of Montenegrin soldiers in international missions. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro is a peaceful country and that it wants to have fair and friendly relations with all countries. DPM Abazović emphasised that Montenegro is a positive example of how a small country can present itself to the world and that we want to continue in that direction.

Kazakh Defence Minister Yermekbayev used the opportunity to congratulate the Statehood Day of Montenegro, wishing peace and prosperity to the state and its citizens. Minister Yermekbayev stated that Montenegro is very popular with tourists from Kazakhstan this year. Yermekbayev briefed DPM Abazović on the situation in the Kazakh army, stating that Kazakhstan cherishes friendly relations with all countries in the East and West.

Furthermore, the two officials discussed the international challenges faced regarding cybercrime, threats to international security posed by terrorism and extremism, opportunities for cooperation, armaments of the two countries, considering the possibilities of intensifying ties between the two ministries and the two armies, especially in the field of cyber security.
