Abazović meets with Kazakh First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs

During his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Kozhayev.

Minister Kozhayev used the opportunity to congratulate the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro on Statehood Day, emphasising that the two countries are marking 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Kozhayev informed DPM Abazović about the system of internal affairs and security system in Kazakhstan, reform and optimisation of the police, improving technology's impact on work through the digitalisation of the system. Kozhayev stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan actively cooperates with many global organisations and that they are open for cooperation with Montenegro. Minister Kozhayev thanked DPM Abazović for his visit, wishing success, progress and peace to Montenegro.

Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović thanked for the warm welcome and congratulations on the Statehood Day, emphasising that it is a pleasure to be in a friendly country. Abazović informed Mr. Kozhayev about Government's priorities, the reforms that occurred after the enactment of the new Law on Internal Affairs, the work of the competent authorities in combating violent extremism, international drug and cigarette smuggling, emphasising the results achieved in the previous period. Referring to the significant increase in the interest of Kazakh tourists in Montenegro and the large number of their citizens who stay in Montenegro on a daily basis, Abazović said that our country is a safe destination and that the state guarantees them security.

The two officials also discussed cooperation between the police and the Prosecutor's Office in Kazakhstan, as well as the importance of cooperation with international organisations in the fight against organised crime.
