Abazović meets with Montenegrin diaspora in Istanbul

The large Montenegrin diaspora represents an important link in strengthening ties between Turkey and Montenegro, said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.

DPM Abazović, during his three-day working visit to the Republic of Turkey, met with representatives of the Montenegrin diaspora and emigrants association in Istanbul. Consul General of Montenegro in Istanbul Branislav Karadžić also attended the meeting.

Abazović emphasised that every state should have an open dialogue, and in that sense establish good relations with the diaspora and emigrants. He said that the opening of the Consulate General in Istanbul in 2019 is a response to numerous requests from the Montenegrin diaspora, but also a reflection of the desire to improve relations with Turkey.
