Abazović pays visit to Montenegrin Employers Federation

We need to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and encourage young people in private business in order to significantly reduce the number of 2/3 of them who see their future in the public sector, said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović after a meeting with President of the Montenegrin Employers Federation (MEF) Predrag Mitrović and associates.

Stating that the Government's intention is to help business and economy, Abazović emphasised that the Government of Montenegro values fair business and protects those who work honestly, while those who operate outside of legal framework should not feel comfortable. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the situation in our economy is greatly improving compared to the previous year.

DPM Abazović pointed out that despite the coronavirus crisis, there are a large number of interested investors who are ready to invest in Montenegro. When it comes to investments, Abazović stated that the post-covid period is a great opportunity for Montenegro, adding that Montenegro needs to position itself well and thus improve its overall image.

President of the Montenegrin Employers Federation Predrag Mitrović emphasised the importance of dialogue and cooperation between the MEF and the Government of Montenegro. The Montenegrin Employers Federation stated that reforms in the economy are necessary and that the focus in the coming period should be on green and digital transformation.  

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the modalities of cooperation between the Government and the MEF, the fight against corruption and economic crime, the business environment and the expectations of the economy regarding company sustainability and job preservation.

The meeting was also attended by Filip Adžić, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister, Nebojša Popović, President of MEF Assembly, Miodrag Laković, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister, Slaviša Šćekić, Vice President of MEF, Kristina Vujisić, an associate in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Nenad Drašković, Board member of MEF, Suzana Radulović, Secretary General of MEF, Zvezdana Oluić, Head of the PR and Marketing Department of the MEF.
