Around 500 new young, educated people to begin employment in the Police Directorate

Today, the Ministry of the Interior will publish a list of nearly 370 candidates who have successfully completed the Public Call for the recruitment of young police officers, and I take this opportunity to congratulate them. If we add to this the graduates of the 17th generation of the Police Academy, who were awarded their diplomas a few days ago, we can conclude that around 500 young, educated people will establish employment with the Police Directorate in the coming days and weeks.

This represents the largest personnel reinforcement in the recent history of the security sector. The process of comprehensive personnel renewal continues with new public calls that will follow shortly. We are preserving valuable experience and professional staff within the system, strengthening it with new energy and young people, while at the same time, in accordance with legal mechanisms and obligations, cleansing the system of all illicit influences and compromised personnel. The largest investments and budget allocations in the security sector to date are also ready, aimed at modernisation and digitalisation of work processes.

Numerous inherited deficiencies are being addressed, competent authorities are decisively tackling all forms of crime without hesitation or protection, and international cooperation and trust have never been stronger. A system is being healed and built that guarantees strong institutions, modern equipment, and genuine professionals in decision-making positions – representing the best guarantee of a resilient system and a strong state.
