Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović hosts farewell visit from Czech Ambassador Janina Hrebičkova

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović hosted earlier today a farewell visit from Janina Hrebičkova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Montenegro.

The meeting reaffirmed the traditionally friendly and close relations between Montenegro and the Czech Republic, founded on strong historical ties and intensive political dialogue. It was emphasised that the two countries enjoy excellent cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels, sharing a commitment to strengthening stability, security and prosperity in Europe.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović thanked the Czech Republic for its continued support for Montenegro’s European integration, highlighting the importance of their partnership and expert assistance in implementing reforms and fulfilling the commitments set out in Montenegro’s European agenda.

Ambassador Hrebičkova noted that she regards Montenegro as a country of exceptional people, rich traditions and strong European potential. She stressed that its citizens, through their knowledge, dedication and belief in European values, represent the greatest strength of the country’s future.

Speaking about Montenegro’s European prospects, she expressed confidence that the country is making successful progress towards the EU membership, pointing out that this process represents much more than the achievement of a foreign policy objective.

Ambassador Hrebičkova stated that the end of her diplomatic mission would not mark the end of her connection with Montenegro. She stressed that friendships forged between people and the trust that unites the two countries represent enduring values that transcend diplomatic positions and mandates.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović thanked Ambassador Hrebičkova for her commitment and significant contribution to strengthening relations between Montenegro and the Czech Republic during her tenure and wished her every success in her future professional and personal endeavours.
