DPM Aleksić hosts delegation from the Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College (JMC)

Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić hosted a delegation of students and professors from the Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College (JMC). The delegation consists of second-year students of the Excellence Programme who study Montenegro with a particular focus on topics related to national identity, communication, politics, and foreign affairs. Their visit to Montenegro is organized within the course International Study Expedition, led by Professors Doron Shultziner and Arik Segal.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić briefed the students and professors on Montenegro’s trends in foreign policy and the field of communications, as well as on the challenges faced by small identities in the process of globalization. During their discussion with Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić, the students had the opportunity to learn about the reform challenges Montenegro encounters on its path toward membership in the European Union. They showed particular interest in the status of the Jewish community in Montenegro, as well as in the societal dynamics of a country without a dominant national identity.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić emphasized that Montenegro is a country where antisemitism has never existed, a fact the country is proud of and always highlights.
President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro Nina Ofner Bokan also attended meeting.
