DPM Aleksić meets with Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Lukashik

Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science, and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić met today with Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Montenegro Alexander Lukashik.

The meeting focused on the potential for cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, with both parties recognizing that there is significant room to enhance bilateral relations in these areas. It was noted that the shared history and deep-rooted ties between the people of both Montenegro and the Russian Federation oblige both sides to further strengthen their relations. Both agreed that it is of utmost importance for all humanity to move forward on a path of peace and prosperity.

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić emphasized that the scientific, technological, and innovation capacities of Russia should be taken into consideration in the context of bilateral cooperation. He also highlighted the long-standing tradition of Russian language education in Montenegro, which offers a strong foundation for further rapprochement. In recent decades, there has been a notable increase in interest among Montenegrin citizens in studying the Russian language.

Ambassador Lukashik stated that the people of both Montenegro and Russia share strong affinities across many spheres of life, including history, religion, and mentality, and that these bonds should be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of both nations.
