DPM Ivanović holds bilateral meetings with officials from Armenia, Palestine, and Serbia

On the margins of the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 conference, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović held bilateral meetings with officials from Armenia, the State of Palestine, and the Republic of Serbia.

In his meeting with Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening political dialogue and cooperation through concrete initiatives in education, culture, economy, and tourism. They highlighted the importance of sustained experience-sharing in the EU integration process and expressed openness to joint initiatives aimed at regional stability and prosperity.

Minister Mirzoyan stated that Armenia is eager to learn from Montenegro’s experience and actively build a strong partnership. In the context of relations in the Caucasus, he referred to ongoing efforts toward normalization with Azerbaijan and reiterated Armenia’s commitment to dialogue and peace. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed hope that normalization of relations between the two countries – both friendly to Montenegro – would be achieved in the near future, underscoring the importance of regional stability and the pursuit of lasting peace. Regarding the European integration process, Ivanović stated that as a leader in that process, Montenegro has a responsibility to support other countries aspiring to join the European Union.

During the meeting with Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, special attention was given to the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Minister Aghabekian emphasized that the scale of human suffering is unacceptable in today’s world and called for greater international engagement. She highlighted the need for concrete political and institutional measures to protect the Palestinian people and their right to live in an independent and secure state. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed deep regret over the prolonged and indiscriminate suffering of civilians. He stressed the importance of eliminating any pretext for denying the Palestinian people’s right to a dignified life, reiterating Montenegro’s position in support of a two-state solution.

Filip Ivanović - Tatjana Macura

In his meeting with Tatjana Macura, Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women, both sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation. They jointly emphasized that the European future of the Western Balkans is beyond question, and committed to further enhancing ties between Montenegro and Serbia for the benefit of all citizens of both countries.
