DPM Ivanović meets with Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil Maria Clara de Abreu Rada

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with the non-resident Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Montenegro, based in Belgrade, H.E. Maria Clara de Abreu Rada.
During the meeting, the traditionally friendly relations between Montenegro and Brazil were highlighted, along with the mutual readiness to further strengthen them. The interlocutors underlined the need to intensify political dialogue, particularly through reciprocal high-level visits. They also discussed opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, science and energy, with a special focus on renewable energy sources and environmental protection. Interest was expressed in strengthening the contractual and legal framework of cooperation through the finalisation and signing of agreements currently in the process of harmonisation.
Views were also exchanged on cooperation within multilateral organisations, with confirmation of a high level of mutual support for candidacies in international bodies. The importance of continued coordination and established reciprocity in supporting future candidacies was particularly emphasised.
The meeting also highlighted the positive dynamics of cooperation in the field of culture, including implemented and planned cultural events, as well as the potential for further connectivity in tourism, especially through cooperation between relevant ministries and national tourism organisations of the two countries. Economic cooperation was also discussed, with interest expressed in intensifying trade exchange and creating conditions for future investments.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović extended his congratulations to the Ambassador on assuming office, wishing her a successful mandate and expressing confidence that her engagement will contribute to the further enhancement of relations between the two countries. The interlocutors agreed that today’s meeting represents an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations between Montenegro and Brazil, with a shared commitment to continued dialogue and the implementation of concrete initiatives of mutual interest.
