DPM Ivanović meets with Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo. The meeting reaffirmed the good relations between Montenegro and the Order of Malta, along with a shared readiness to further enhance cooperation.
In the context of Montenegro’s current foreign policy priorities, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović presented progress in the European integration process, emphasizing the Government’s commitment to implementing reforms and achieving European standards. The Grand Chancellor underlined that Montenegro’s European integration represents an important contribution to the future of the region, noting that Europe is not complete without Montenegro as part of the European family.
Particular emphasis during the meeting was placed on the humanitarian work of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and its contribution in Montenegro and the wider region.
Special attention was given to the cooperation between the Institute for Children’s Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro and the Vatican’s Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the signing of a cooperation agreement earlier today.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed gratitude for the continued engagement of the Order of Malta and conveyed expectations that cooperation will continue through concrete projects in the near future. The Grand Chancellor reaffirmed the Order’s commitment to further engagement and the implementation of activities of importance to Montenegro.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on current regional and international issues, with particular emphasis on the Order’s humanitarian work in crisis areas around the world.
