DPM Ivanović meets with Secretary General of the Youth Network of Montenegro

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met with Secretary General of the Youth Network of Montenegro Vladimir Perazić to discuss improving the position of young people, increasing their involvement in Montenegro’s European integration process, strengthening institutional cooperation, and exploring opportunities to develop international partnerships in the field of youth policy.
During the meeting, the work of the Youth Network of Montenegro was presented. As the umbrella association of youth organisations in Montenegro, it brings together organisations dedicated to the development of youth policy, civic activism, and the empowerment of young people across the country. Particular attention was given to initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of young people in decision-making processes and encouraging their more active participation in social life.
Special attention was devoted to the initiative to establish the EU Youth Dialogue in Montenegro as a structured mechanism for continuous communication between young people and decision-makers, in line with European practices and the objectives of the European Union. It was assessed that such a model contributes to the development of better public policies, strengthens democratic culture, and supports Montenegro’s progress on its European path.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović stressed that young people are among Montenegro’s most valuable development resources and that their contribution is essential to the successful continuation of the country’s reform process and European integration. He emphasised that the Government of Montenegro will continue to support initiatives that encourage the active participation of young people, strengthen dialogue between institutions and the youth sector, and contribute to building a modern, democratic, and European society.
The interlocutors also discussed opportunities to connect the Youth Network of Montenegro with international organisations, foundations, and development partners in order to implement projects in the areas of youth participation, democratic dialogue, capacity building, and international cooperation. It was noted that strengthening international partnerships represents an important opportunity for exchanging experiences, enhancing knowledge, and further empowering the youth sector in Montenegro.
Secretary General of the Youth Network of Montenegro Vladimir Perazić thanked Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović for the meeting and his openness to dialogue, emphasising that institutional support is essential for the development of youth policy and the establishment of sustainable mechanisms for youth participation. He stressed that the Network remains committed to strengthening cooperation with state institutions and international partners in order to enable young people to actively contribute to Montenegro’s European future and the development of a society based on democratic values.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue cooperation and jointly advance initiatives aimed at improving the position of young people, strengthening their participation in the European integration process, and promoting Montenegro’s strategic interests on its path European path.
