DPM Koprivica meets with EEAS Deputy Managing Director for Western Europe Emanuele Giaufret

Deputy Prime Minister Momo Koprivica met with Emanuele Giaufret, Deputy Managing Director for Western Europe at the European External Action Service (EEAS). The meeting was also attended by H.E. Johann Sattler, Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro.
Deputy Prime Minister Koprivica expressed his appreciation for the European Union’s continuous support for Montenegro’s reform efforts, emphasizing that the Government remains fully committed to advancing key reforms in the areas of rule of law, institutional strengthening, and political dialogue.
He underscored that the Government attaches the highest importance to building broad political consensus on European priorities, ensuring the full staffing and independence of all rule-of-law institutions, strengthening their financial and operational capacities, and continuing the qualitative transformation of the legal system in alignment with the EU acquis. The Deputy Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the EU and the EU Delegation in Podgorica for their strong support in overseeing the destruction of seized cigarettes at the Free Zone in the Port of Bar – a significant test of Montenegro’s institutional resolve, which was completed with full credibility.
Giaufret reiterated that the European Union values Montenegro’s progress so far and expects the pace of reforms to accelerate further, while maintaining an inclusive approach and dialogue among all relevant stakeholders.
Both sides agreed that continued reform implementation, legislative alignment with EU standards, institutional stability, and constructive inter-party dialogue are essential for Montenegro’s further advancement on its European path.
