European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to visit Montenegro

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will visit Montenegro on 1 and 2 October 2026 as part of her annual visit to the Western Balkan countries.

On Thursday, 1 October, President von der Leyen will meet with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić in Podgorica, followed by a press conference at Villa Gorica at 18:30.

On Friday, 2 October, the President of the European Commission will officially inaugurate, together with Montenegrin officials, the new National Coordination Centre (NCC) of the Border Police of Montenegro, marking an important step towards strengthening Montenegro’s integrated border management system.

Media representatives who do not hold an annual accreditation card issued by the Government of Montenegro and who wish to cover the press conference at Villa Gorica may apply for accreditation via the following link: https://www.gov.me/en/press, no later than Thursday, 1 October, at 15:00.
