Ibrahimović attends informal meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs: Strengthening defence capabilities and long-term support for Ukraine in focus

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović participated in the informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Antalya.
The meeting served as an opportunity for discussion on key topics that will be addressed at the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague this June.

Foreign ministers exchanged views on strengthening deterrence and defence, agreeing that increased defence spending is essential for safeguarding the Euro-Atlantic area in light of growing security challenges.
They also emphasized the importance of continued support and assistance to Ukraine, underlining the need for achieving a just and lasting peace.
Ministers discussed ways to deepen cooperation and dialogue with the European Union across multiple areas of shared interest, such as military mobility, maritime affairs, emerging technologies, and defence.

Ibrahimović reaffirmed Montenegro’s strong commitment to NATO’s core objectives. He particularly highlighted the Alliance’s role in the Western Balkans as a strategically important region for preserving security and stability – a goal to which Montenegro actively contributes.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Ibrahimović held brief and cordial talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
