Ibrahimović presents awards for outstanding contributions to strengthening ties between Montenegro and diaspora

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović presented awards and recognitions to distinguished individuals and organizations from the diaspora at a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Diaspora. The honors were given in recognition of their exceptional efforts in reinforcing connections with the homeland and promoting Montenegro’s image abroad.
In his address, Ibrahimović expressed deep appreciation to Montenegrins around the world for their unwavering engagement during pivotal moments in the country’s history.
A nation exists as much as it lives in the hearts of its people. You have consistently shown this to be true—returning to support Montenegro when it needed you most, he stated.
Highlighting the growing institutional cooperation, Ibrahimović emphasized the importance of establishing the Ministry of Diaspora, which he noted would further strengthen ties with Montenegrins abroad and ensure even more fruitful collaboration moving forward.
He added that Montenegro’s path to the European Union remains the most meaningful way for the country to honor and repay the dedication of its diaspora.
Ibrahimović congratulated this year’s award recipients, describing them as examples of “lasting loyalty, vision, and dedication to the idea of a united and successful Montenegro.” He also paid tribute to those recognized posthumously, stating that their contributions represent a legacy for future generations to carry forward.
The voice with which you represent Montenegro around the world—whether in business, culture, science, or daily life—is a lasting and invaluable asset to our nation, Ibrahimović concluded, expressing pride in the global Montenegrin community and reaffirming that they have a vital place in the country’s European journey.
