Ibrahimović receives U.S. Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke on a farewell visit; commitment to further strengthening strategic partnership reaffirmed

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović received Ambassador of the United States of America Judy Rising Reinke on a farewell visit.
On that occasion, Ibrahimović expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Reinke for her dedicated and committed work during her diplomatic service in Podgorica, extending his best wishes for success and happiness in her future personal and professional endeavors.
He assessed that bilateral relations between Montenegro and the United States were further strengthened during her mandate, with particular emphasis on her personal contribution to institutional strengthening, as well as the empowerment of youth and women in Montenegro. Ibrahimović highlighted the high-quality and dynamic cooperation with the United States at all levels, reaffirming Montenegro’s commitment and openness to further enhancing ties and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on Ambassador Reinke’s engagement in strengthening economic cooperation, including the relaunch of the Montenegro–U.S. Economic Dialogue, as well as the growing interest of U.S. companies in investing in Montenegro. In this context, it was noted that the second high-level Montenegro–U.S. Economic Dialogue was held in Washington in late October 2024, when a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic Cooperation was signed, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
Satisfaction was also expressed with the long-standing friendship between Montenegro and the United States, further confirmed by the recent marking of 120 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, founded on shared values, principles, and ideas that shape relations between the two countries.
The United States was recognized as a strategic partner, friend, and ally of Montenegro, with relations further reinforced through cooperation within NATO. The role of the United States as a promoter of peace and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as an important factor in addressing global challenges, was also underscored.
Particular appreciation was expressed for U.S. support for Montenegro’s democratic and economic development, as well as for its support of Montenegro’s European future and that of the Western Balkans, which was described as invaluable. The European Union remains Montenegro’s number one foreign policy priority, with the belief that the results achieved so far provide a solid foundation for further strengthening cooperation.
