Ibrahimović, Zukorlić: Regional cooperation contributes to overall development and success of the European path

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović met today with Minister without Portfolio of the Republic of Serbia in charge of reconciliation, regional cooperation and social stability Usame Zukorlić

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a particular emphasis on opportunities in the fields of economy, tourism, and rail and road transport.

Ibrahimović underscored that the European integration of the Western Balkans has no alternative, emphasizing that strengthening regional security and stability is a key prerequisite for further prosperity. He highlighted the importance of ongoing reform processes within the European agenda, which positively impact regional development, and reaffirmed Montenegro’s readiness, as the frontrunner in EU accession negotiations, to support neighbouring countries on their path to the European Union. 

Minister Zukorlić emphasized the significant potential for improving cooperation and connectivity between the two countries. He particularly highlighted the importance of infrastructure projects in fostering economic ties, facilitating interactions between business entities and local communities, and enhancing collaboration in tourism and economic sectors. 

The officials also exchanged views on identity issues and the importance of protecting and promoting minority rights. Both parties expressed their commitment to continuing dialogue on all key issues within the bilateral agenda.
