IPARD Support Contributes to the Development of Rural Tourism in Montenegro

Thanks to funding provided through the IPARD Programme and investments in rural tourism under Measure 7, rural tourism in Montenegro is steadily gaining momentum. These investments are helping to showcase the country's natural beauty, unique landscapes, and rich resources, making Montenegro an increasingly attractive destination for visitors seeking authentic rural experiences.

Just 13 kilometres from the bustling centre of Nikšić, in the heart of unspoiled nature, lies the Tačevine Ethno Village, located in the village of Tačevine. The company Magic Family Ltd. is a beneficiary of support under Measure 7 of the IPARD Programme. Situated at an altitude of 1,150 metres above sea level, the area offers crystal-clear mountain air and pristine natural surroundings, providing visitors with a unique sense of peace, freedom, and tranquillity.

"Nikšić is located on the route connecting the Montenegrin coast with Durmitor, and our goal is to attract visitors travelling from the coastal region who are looking to enjoy this type of authentic experience. Our Tačevine Ethno Village features beautifully designed and carefully maintained traditional cottages, whose terraces overlook endless forests, mountain peaks, and open blue skies. I am truly proud to contribute to the development of my hometown through this project." Đukanović, Owner of Tačevine Ethno Village

The ethno village offers 12 fully equipped apartments, thoughtfully designed to provide guests with comfort and the warmth of a home away from home. The complex combines relaxation, recreation, and entertainment, while offering a wide range of outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy organised hiking and cycling tours to Kapetanovo Lake and the Morača Mountains, both located nearby.

The complex also includes a restaurant serving traditional Montenegrin cuisine, where meals are prepared using locally sourced agricultural products supplied by producers from the surrounding area, thereby supporting the local economy and preserving authentic culinary traditions.

Magic Family Ltd. is a beneficiary under the First Public Call of Measure 7, receiving support for investments in equipment, including kitchen appliances, kitchen equipment, and furniture.

The total eligible investment, excluding VAT, amounted to EUR 152,896.29, while the total IPARD grant amounted to EUR 99,382.59. Of this amount, EUR 74,536.94 was financed by the European Union, while EUR 24,845.65 was provided through national co-financing.

"The IPARD Programme offers numerous opportunities to improve tourism facilities and help businesses meet the required standards. This investment and financial support enabled us to complete our tourism offer, enhance the quality of our services, and increase the income of our family business. I encourage all my fellow citizens to apply for these support schemes and take advantage of the funding opportunities available." Đukanović, Owner of Tačevine Ethno Village

This investment demonstrates how IPARD support strengthens rural tourism by improving accommodation standards, promoting local products and traditions, creating new economic opportunities for rural communities, and contributing to the sustainable development of Montenegro's tourism sector.
