Ivanović: Honoring the legacy and continuity of Montenegro’s diplomacy

On the occasion of Montenegro’s Diplomacy Day, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović reflected on the significance of the date and its historical foundation.

Last year, we marked 150 years since the establishment of the Office for Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Montenegro, commemorating the beginnings of the institutionalization of Montenegro’s foreign policy. It was the first time this important date in our diplomatic history was formally celebrated. I am proud that, following my proposal, the Government established 6 May as Montenegro’s Diplomacy Day — as a tribute to the continuity of our diplomatic service and in recognition of the people who serve it with pride, Ivanović stated.
