Ivanović: Montenegro and Spain are linked by friendship and commitment to European values

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović delivered an address at a reception marking the National Day of the Kingdom of Spain, highlighting the importance of the friendly relations between the two countries and Spain’s support for Montenegro’s European path. On the occasion, Ivanović extended his sincere congratulations, wishing Spain peace, prosperity and continued progress.

He noted that relations between Montenegro and Spain are characterised by mutual respect and a commitment to shared values, particularly emphasising the importance of Spain’s continued support for Montenegro’s European perspective and its aspirations to become a full member of the European Union.

Speaking about opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the potential to intensify cooperation in the fields of the economy, tourism, energy, sustainable development, education, innovation and culture. He particularly stressed the importance of direct contacts, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and fostering greater mutual understanding between the citizens of the two countries.

He concluded that a shared commitment to European values provides a solid foundation for further strengthening the partnership between Montenegro and Spain, expressing confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries would continue to develop to their mutual benefit.
