Ivanović: Strengthening the role of youth for a more stable region

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met with a delegation of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), led by Secretary General Vladimir Obradović.
The meeting was held in the context of Montenegro’s current chairmanship of the Berlin Process, highlighting the importance of stronger involvement of RYCO in its activities, given the role of youth in strengthening regional cooperation and ensuring the long-term stability of the Western Balkans.
The interlocutors discussed ongoing and planned activities of RYCO, including the upcoming Youth Forum, which will serve as an important platform for the exchange of ideas, networking, and empowerment of young people in the region.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of creating conditions that will encourage young people to remain in their countries and build their future there, with the assessment that this represents one of the key issues of today, as well as an area with strong potential for positive change and long-term regional development.
In this context, the importance of further cooperation with RYCO was underlined, along with a shared commitment to strengthening the role of youth in regional cooperation processes through joint initiatives across various formats. The meeting also addressed the further development of RYCO as an organization and its ambition to continue contributing – through concrete programmes and projects – to building trust, mobility, and cooperation among young people in the region.
